- The Nature School Mission
The Nature School Primary is a leading progressive independent school. Following the NSW Syllabus, our focus is on providing the highest quality education, delivered in a unique environment with a focus on nature. We take an integrated approach to learning and encourage our students to develop scientific enquiry, explore different perspectives and learn by doing. Students at TNS are scientific thinkers, curious questioners, and articulate communicators, capable of affecting change now and in the future.
The Nature School is proud to announce that we will continue expanding our education program into Secondary School, beginning with the introduction of Year 7 in 2023. Our Secondary program will expand to cater for students in Years 7-10 by 2026. At TNS Secondary, creativity, problem-solving, independent thinking, communication and collaboration will continue to be fostered. Building on the strengths of our Primary years, teachers will extend the Learning Naturally framework to design a robust academic program with an integrated approach to selected subjects.
Our Early Years program operates outdoors and is for children 3-5 years. The program fosters each child’s skill-building and holistic development. We encourage children to expand their independent thinking and curiosity, facilitating their development into confident young learners.
An opportunity for children aged 0-3 years and their family members to explore natural spaces and network with other families who enjoy spending time in nature. The program is currently on hold, but please keep an eye out for updates on its return.
The Nature School holiday programs are open to Primary School children (5-12 years) and maintain the core philosophies of The Nature School. The mixed-age group environment supports children of all ages to build on their empathy, social and communication skills.
We value connected learning opportunities, connecting with our community, and connection with nature.
We value childhood, protect the rights of children, and advocate for protection of the environment.
We value self respect, respect for others, and respect for the natural world.
